SMUD Vulnerable Population Program

This program allows vulnerable SMUD customers to sign up to receive additional communications and advance notice before a planned power shut-off related to potential wildfire risks.

PG&E Disability Disaster Access and Resources Program

PG&E customers who live in a high fire-threat district and have medical and independent living needs are eligible for support before, during and after wildfire safety outages, such as a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) or Enhanced Powerline Safety Setting (EPSS) outage. Services include creating an emergency plan, signing up for PG&E’s Medical Baseline Program, applying for a portable backup battery, getting ADA-accessible car rides and hotel stays during a PSPS or other wildfire safety power outage, and receiving food replacements during a PSPS or other wildfire safety power outages. This program is a partnership with PG&E and the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers.
